Well, the Black River Stages have come and
gone and this has had to be the most exciting time I have ever had on a
motorcycle. It was fast, challenging, scary, and just fantastic! Our riders did
a hell of a job and pushed hard all day. The competition was strong and fast and
we fared very well indeed. I'm extremely proud of all of their accomplishments
and I was humbled and honored to have each one of them their representing us.
You guys all rock!!!
I want to send out a huge gigantic THANKS to all of the workers/volunteers and
anyone else who provided assistance for us. In addition I'd like to thanks Ally
from RevIt along with her beau Joe and my good bud Brian for helping us
with the service area. You may not realize it but even the smallest task can
prove to be a burden when your mind is focused on racing. Without all of
you this would not happen!!
Congrats to Mark Ely for taking another overall finish...again(slow the
hell down and let is catch you ;)) Also congrats to the boys from MAXBMW
MotorSport. Doug, Pete, Mark, and Steve all took podium positions
which were greatly deserved. The folks from the Pine Barrens also kicked butt
and showed that a few good men from the sand pit of NJ can spank anyone.
Shawn and Scott took the honors in P2 and SP3 respectively. I'd like
to extend our congratulations to all of the competitors who entered. It takes
time, $$, and some brass cajones, to get this together and get out there and
race. The professionalism, good sportsmanship, camaraderie, and friendships
gained can never be replaced. I look forward to enjoying this event with all of
you for a long time to come!!
Onward
to my guys. First off, a veteran of his second RallyMoto event, Gregor
Halenda rode the wheels off his KTM 540SX. He finished 2nd overall and 2nd
place in the SP2 class. He was consistent all day and never let up. His
enthusiasm and mellow personality are contagious. Don't let the mild mannered
Gregor fool you though, he's blazingly fast and almost fearless (like me ;)).
Gregor got to chase Mark Ely all day which I'm sure was tough but eventually he
caught him in one stage. He'll be joining us for the SandBlast Rally 2008 in Feb
for sure. Watch out folks, Gregor is coming to win for sure.

Next up is new comer to the team and to the RallyMoto events, Mark Jenks.
Mark came to us through mutual friends. I've met him before at a rally but never
had a chance to spend time talking and hanging out with him. I had no idea of
what to expect. Not surprised at all, Mark proved to be one tough competitor and
a great guy. This guy is self contained in everyway and seemed to have the whole
day planned way in advance. He is a model of efficiency and good nature.
Needless to say, Mark finished extremely strong in his first event and really
beat up his KTM640 Adventure. Mark was very consistent all day enough to take
2nd place in the P2 class and 5th Overall for the rally. His performance
bettered many seasoned rally riders and he should prove to be tough and
competitive for future rallies. I look forward to having him compete with us
again.
Chris
Wyckoff is no stranger to the RallyMoto series taking numerous first place
positions and a First Overall in the Tennessee RallyMoto event. He's always
wildly fast and explosive however in racing you have good days and bad days and
this just was not Chris's day at all. In race preparation, it's truely the
little things that usually make the big difference. Chris rode his favorite bike
of all time, the KTM 950 Adventure "S" and finished the rally strong.
My
turn!! Yep...this is me, Andrew Fekete, riding as fast as I could
possibly go. I had one goal when I got to the rally, I didn't want to finish
last. I achieved my goal and I'm damn proud of it! I live this little bike and
it has proven to provide me with a lot of confidence. I would've finished even
better if I didn't stall twice on the last two stages but that's like saying I
would've won if I went faster ;) Either way, I don't think anyone had a better
time then me doing this event. I giggled like a little kid after most of the
stages due to the huge fun factor. I always asked the stage workers if I could
go back and do it again. They all laughed and hurried me along. I'll continue to
improve my skills and I know I'll place better in the upcoming season which is
not that hard to do given my past performance.
Through out the day this event became more exciting. We, as riders, we able to
run sections multiple times helping us gain confidence and finish stronger. The
central service area proved to be a blessing as we did not have to navigate
through unknown roads looking for our pit crews and hoping that they would get
there as well. Here are few more shots of my guys in action. Credit for the
pictures goes the NHGS and Andrew from Team Max BMW.

I'm
very proud to have EVS Sports as a
sponsor of our team. All of our team members will be safely geared up in
advanced line of riders safety gear including knee braces and body armor.
If this stuff is good enough to be used by the pros then hopefully it may help
save one of our riders from any kind of damage. We certainly do not
plan on getting hurt but it's a great feeling to know that you have the best gear to
help you along.
Check their website out at www.evs-sports.com.

All Adventurers Workshop Riders are wearing
Acerbis Gear from MX1WEST.com. Jason and
the crew there have supplied us top quality gear that easily fits our needs with
the ever changing environments that we race in. Give him call and I'm sure he'll
take great care of you as well.
